Valle de Lecrín - Lecrin Valley |
|
|
 |
One of
the prized treasures that
hides the province of
Granada is
the Valley of Lecrín.
This small region of
Granada situated in the
south west side of Sierra
Nevada, maintains a great
diversity of landscapes.
It is found situated in a
gorge surrounded by deep
ravines, and enjoys abundant
water and a microclimate
that favours the cultivation
of citric plants and
avocados amongst others.
The perfume of the valley
at dawn, when the oranges
and lemon trees are in
flower, is an experience
difficult to forget.
All these characteristics
make the Valley of
Lecrin, a superb
framework to live in contact
with nature, but also very
near some of the better
known tourist attraction in
the south of Spain.

Costa Tropical - Tropical Coast |
|
|
 |
The Costa Tropical is on the
southern coast of
Spain, at the
eastern end of the better-known
Costa del Sol.
This stretch of coastline
takes its name from the sub-tropical
climate which allows the
cultivation of exotic fruits
and crops such as avocadoes,
mangoes, bananas and sugar
cane.
There are three main
resort towns on the Tropical
Coast - Almuñecar,
Salobreña
and Motril.
Almuñecar is the tourist
capital of the Costa and is
one of the most Spanish
resorts along the entire
south coast. It's a favoured
holiday haunt of the Spanish
from Granada as it provides
excellent leisure facilities
but has not been tainted by
the trappings of mass
tourism.

The Alpujarra, south side of the Sierra Nevada, offers endless waves of hills in the hot sun, cool evening air, lush vegetation, views of snow covered peaks and fantastic hikes between the many small ancient whitewashed villages.
Have you forgotten the taste of real fruit and vegetables. Walk along the local paths and ask the owners of the land to try the taste of his tomatoes, figs, almonds and a whole host of other seasonal goodies. A taste you will never forget.
After the walk you can enjoy a young wine "mosto" in a local bar and savour the tapas that will complete your day!
The Lecrin Valley is just a 30 min. drive to the Sierra Nevada, Spain's highest and most southern mountain range. It is certainly one of Europe's most enjoyable and challenging area for paragliding pilots, horse treking, skiing (December till April), hiking and trekking, mountain biking, or just sightseeing to the terraced hills, deep ravines, mountain streams and pretty whitewashed villages... a dream come true for all those who love mountains and unspoilt nature.

Poniente - West of Granada |
|
|
 |
In this region of the Poniente Granadino presently known as the limits of the Province of Granada, of Malaga and Cordoba, previously known for more then two centuries, the frontier between the Kingdom of Nazario of Granada and the Christian Kingdom of Castilla. It was the last frontier of the "Al Andaluz" and due to this the villages and land are full of rich legends, history and battles.
Surrounded by watchful towers, castles, palaces and mosques, routes that served to invade territories, crags where they ambushed ferocious opponents.
Discover the Poniente is to confront history. All the historical legends are conserved today in the form of castles, hot springs and memories. The landscape is marked by forests, cut by rivers, raised deserts and picturesque places. Set within the natural Park of "Sierra de Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama".
